What We Do

Our Cause
To Preserve and Protect Hixon Millennium Green for a 1,000 years.

Environment & Ecology
Hixon Millennium Green is an important area of open space in the centre of Hixon village. Numerous trees and bushes provide a habitat for birds and small mammals. There are a number of discreet hedgehog feeder stations. Bird boxes are planned for 2020.

Families & Children
Hixon Millennium Green is a cherished community facility, providing a safe place for children and families to play or picnic. The children's play area has equipment for young children, while the large area of grass is suitable for informal games.

Fundraising
Hixon Millennium Green Trustees have to raise over £1,000 each year to cover the cost of general maintenance. A number of fund-raising community events are held on the Green to entertain both children and adults. The annual summer village fete on the Green is major date in the village events calendar.
